Starting today, we will be offering about 100 students admission off the wait list. A small handful (less than 5) are being offered admission for the Fall term, while the rest are being offered admission for the Spring term. Students who were offered admission were sent an email and/or received a phone call.
We anticipate that we will have a small number of students who have submitted the commitment deposit decide not to enroll at UGA in the fall based on history from the last several years. Even with that in mind, this year our Freshman class is a little bit larger than what we were looking for and this means we were only able to offer a very limited number of students admission for fall term from the Wait List.
For the students who we were not able to offer admission to from the Wait List, we are sorry that we could not do so and we wish you the best of luck at the college you have chosen. We will email those students with this notification shortly and follow up with a letter. We understand that this is not the news you were hoping for. We hope that by moving forward with the Wait List earlier and finishing this process before the projected end date that this will allow you to move forward with other plans more easily. Please remember that there are a number of reasons why we have made the decisions we did and we are not able to answer any comments asking why someone did or did not get admitted from the Wait List.
