The Admitted First-Year Class of 2029

The University of Georgia’s Admitted First-Year Class of 2029 reflects one of the most accomplished groups in the university’s history. Applicants were admitted from across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and nearly every Georgia county. The students embody UGA’s broad statewide reach and growing national appeal. They bring a range of talents and experiences that will enrich the campus community and contribute to a vibrant, dynamic first-year class.

Valedictorians and Salutatorians

The top two graduates from every SACS accredited Georgia high school are guaranteed admission to UGA, provided certain criteria are met. Approximately 610 of the admitted first-year students were valedictorians or salutatorians.

Top Intended Majors for First-Year Admits

UGA does not limit admission based on a student’s intended major. First-year applicants are asked to select one major, including the option to apply as undecided, and admitted students can change their major before enrolling.

Middle 50% of Honors College Admits

Admission to the Honors College is highly selective and extremely competitive. All students who apply to UGA through Early Action are automatically reviewed for direct admission to the Honors College. Early Action applicants who are not granted automatic admission may still be considered by submitting the supplemental Honors College application.
