Georgia Residents 62+

If you are a Georgia resident 62 years of age or older, the University of Georgia welcomes you to continue your education. Per the University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents policy, eligible applicants can take undergraduate courses as space is available, without paying tuition and mandatory fees except for supplies or laboratory/class fees. Applicants must meet the outlined criteria, including payment of admission application fees, being an official resident of Georgia, and 62 years of age or older at the time of course registration.

Who is Eligible

To qualify to enroll in this program, applicants must:

  • Be an official resident of Georgia
  • Be 62 years of age or older at the time of registering for classes, providing proof of age such as a birth certificate or other comparable written documentation
  • Meet all USG and UGA undergraduate admission requirements for the application type with which you are applying
  • Pay the admission application fee
  • Have all usual student and institutional records maintained
  • Meet all USG, UGA, and legislated degree requirements if you will be seeking a degree
  • Meet any prerequisite requirements for if specified for that course

 

Exclusions

Applicants seeking to enroll as a 62+ student, not paying tuition, cannot enroll in courses in the following schools or programs:

  • Dental
  • Medical
  • Veterinary
  • Law
